Florida Highway Patrol -Daytona Area Visiting Question

I am visiting a relative in Daytona Beach, Fl....and was wondering
if someone could briefly explain how your Highway Patrol is monitored
in your state, and how I might monitor them, specifically, in the Daytona area.

highway can NOT be monitored / Daytona beach is under the Volusia county system , the sheriff dept does all dispatch in the county except Daytona beach it has its own dispatchers

FHP is fully encrypted, as are all State of Florida agencies.

You can look here regarding this and other questions you may have. Also please note that Florida law prohibits scanners in cars unless you meet one of the exemptions. It is always a matter of debate whether this law is enforced or not but why take a chance and lose your scanner.
