Well my 260 is on the truck for delivery today, BUT after building out my programming with ProScan with all my VHF/UHF Analog and then added DMR, I am out of room. This 260 comes up short buy about 300 channels. This model may NOT work for me. I will have to evaluate the importance of local DMR and future NXDN buildouts. Probably wont even open the box from Uniden direct, and may sell at a $25 discount, (If somebody asks) or keep it and not put it in service until future NXDN expansion.

UPDATE: I will be selling my 260 for $325 ALL IN, Free Shipping, as soon as it arrives. I will not even open the box.
DMR Value and the fact I should have researched my NXDN in my area. It's all trunked. DAMN!
I'll pick up another BCT15x and pay for the NXDN upgrade on the one of my SDS200s when the need arises.
Keep an eye on the classifieds or message me.
Oh well.

Not sure how anyone could scan that many channels on a single scanner anyway...talk about missing traffic. I completely get that everyone's scanning style is different but...how are you 300 channels short on the scanner? What's your programming plan? Just curious how it's 300 short is all.

I don't scan that many at once it's about Categories and Banks. The banks are limited to 100 channels. I have multiple categories that are 200+. The 15x I have no issues with the way all my Analog VHF/UHF is setup.

JimD56, you could try this as I do this on my R30 and can listen to most communication back and forth. I put all frequencies (not just the control channel) in groups by county for P25. I can follow most conversations. Get the frequencies from the RR database. You can do this with analog too. Worth a try. As far as NXDN, I have not logged any in my area in the 2 years of logging. I do log DMR and see the CC logged too most of the time. Good luck on your decision.

Thanks. In a metro area of 5 million the NXDN is trunked.
Already got the 260 sold. Even before I open the shipping box. (y)

Just out of severe curiosity, are there some first impressions regarding the 160DN to share?
I second this question. I've been looking all over for a review of this scanner.... Railroad guys?

There are some "looks" at it on YouTube. Not sure of the dates of the video release, though.
Yep, checked YouTube, they are older looks. I'm really interested in this scanner for its extra capacity over the bc125at. The 160dn has potential to be a hit with the auto racing (nascar) crowd. You could store all three major series on it, and still have the ability to hear other digital signals used at the track. By reading the manual, I can't tell if it uses the architecture of the bcd325p2 or the bc125at. By this I mean, to get to a specific channel (push hold, push channel number, push hold. This works great for going directly to a car number. Or does it use the number tag system the 325 does? Does the 160dn really have the ability to store a blinking ctcss/dcs code with a push of the enter button. And lastly, without having close call, does the 160dn have the ability to quick store a frequency from "band scope". This would be really helpful at local tracks that don't publish drivers' frequencies.

Yeah. Still some unknowns, perhaps; or maybe they were covered in a video, I haven't watched them all.

I get a kick out of the folks who act like it's a bum scanner or will kill Uniden just because it doesn't do everything. An 'everything' scanner would be one of the upper tier models. This one is designed for a very specific use case and monitoring types. Sometimes we just have to say "it's not for me but I'm sure it'll meet some people's needs" and move on. They used existing enclosures so the only real changes over some existing models were the internal components.

Agree with this. The new 160 seems perfect for my needs. Glad they are offering non-trunking NXDN and DMR at this price point.
