    To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello, I work at a dispatch center and we are stumped trying to figure out how to decode the four digit/number code the motorola 7500 series console uses to create the audible two tone alert for minitor devices. For example one of the codes used to create a two tone alert is A29B, we dont want to/ know better than to mess around with the system but want to figure out the frequency codes to be able to be programmed into a minitor. I have found the tables in the system that show the frequencies but cant quite figure out how to translate the code and find the correct table it uses. I know that it is motorola quick call II B, any help or a table that shows a possible conversion would be helpful! Or is it specific to our dispatch center and only our radio provider would know?

FYI, he provided the translation for the MCC5500. I’m fairly certain that the MCC7500 has a different translation scheme.
Yeah I noticed that but I decoded a few at work using that chart and they matched up to the "known" frequencies we had. So appears to be the correct one at least for my center.

We are discussing MCC5500 vs MCC7500. I know ours were different when we changed from 5500s to 7500s.

Do you have a source to get this software from? I'm trying to find it haha; I've got some CM200s and a MCC 5500 console

Also, if anyone is available, since I don't yet have the software;

The codes are:
1217
1227
1237
1247

Is anyone able to list those out into the A & B tones? Thanks!

Thanks so much for this! I had dispatch set off the tones, but unfortunately, it still did not alert the radio...I am setting up the channel to do a Call Alert so they can actually sleep at night and not hear the other stations getting toned out.

I verified RX, TX, and PL for both. The only other thing I think could be wrong is the signaling system settings?
I am going to try and set the RX PL for CSQ, and see if that will help. I'm just not sure what the AND & OR settings differentiate between...

Do I want these settings OR these settings, or do I want these settings AND these settings for unmuting/signaling/squelch.

Put it in a sentence like that, and it's much easier to parse.
