• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hey all, my fire dept uses QCII for paging and I have a 1250 model radio. I can program the channels to alert for just what I want, but the alert tone will keep on alerting over the dispatcher. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Do you have "call alert w/ voice override" chosen? Do you have continuous alerting set? alert auto/reset?

I can't remember exactly what the wording two on the last was, but there is you want it to alert once, be overriden by the voice being transmitted, and to auto/reset when done. If you need more specifics, I can fire up the VM and find an old codeplug for a HT1250LS+ that has alerting on it for you and get you screenshots.

I have call alert w/ voice override chosen. I have alert tone auto reset unchecked. I'm not sure where to check for continuous alerting

Well, a new problem has arose. I have a dpl code set and I'm still hearing transmissions from other areas using different dpl codes. It's like I'm using CSQ. Any ideas what the problem is?

Frequency I want: 453.6875 DPL 565 (Nassau County Fire 3rd Battalion Ops 1 in New York)
Frequency I hear along with mine: 453.6875 DPL 654 (Belmar EMS dispatch in New Jersey)

He referred to a "1250" model radio, I was the one who mentioned the HT as opposed to the CDM.
As I replied to Ramal121, if he's still talking about the ht1250, hook defeats PL isn't the problem. But for all I know he could be talking about a different radio entirely, op hasn't been exactly forthcoming with info on the problem

Fair enough. My assumption went to a mobile radio. If this is indeed a HT, how about the radio is in scan with PL disabled during scan?
