This is probably going to be a forehead slap answer... but I noticed recently that the sort on the web page displays recorded clips in ascending order, and I can't figure out how to make it change permanently to descending order... oh, I can change the page to display it descending.. but then when it refreshes, it goes back to ascending...but only on the Local view. On the External/Outside view, it is fine..... I have changed the sort in the Recorder tab on Proscan, I have changed the sort on the windows explorer folder...... what am I forgetting to do? Anyone have a suggestion?

clicking on the column header only works until the poll interval updates, then it goes back to the ascending sort... it works the way it is supposed to on the external IP link, but not on the local IP link

What do you mean by "but only on the Local view" and "External/Outside view"? Inside and outside the local network? Inside and outside shouldn't matter at all. Maybe it's due to different browsers. I don't think the sort ever had any capability to retain the order after a page refresh. Since you're saying recently, can you revert to the version that worked before and see if it does the same thing.

I have Proscan 22.8 running on two different computers that I own. Computer A is running Windows 11, Computer B is running Windows 10.

When I view the web page on Computer A (Win11) for the feed on Computer A, the sort is descending. When I view the web page on Computer for the feed on Computer B, the sort is ascending (both local IP).

When I view the webpage on Computer B (Win10) for the feed on Computer B, the sort is descending.

When I view the webpage for Computer A on my android phone (external IP), the sort is descending. When I view the webpage for Computer B on my phone, the sort is descending.

I tried rolling back the version all the way to 22.3 and the results were the same as above... so, for some reason, the webpage for the feed that is running on Computer B (Win10) sorts differently on the Chrome browser on Win11 and Android. It sorts properly on the Chrome browser on Win10. Computer B isn't compatible to upgrade to Win11.

I am 90% certain that the sort was able to be changed previously, on the web page view on the Win11 machine, but at this point, I won't stake my life on it...

Can you send me a suggestion. Please keep it simple and to the point. I don't care what's working. I just want to know what's not working.

Suggestions

If you have suggestions, send an email to support@proscan.org One suggestion per email. The advantage of email is that I can ask additional questions to make sure the suggestion is done right and send you the latest ProScan file with the suggestion implemented. Priority is given to suggestions received via email. Put "suggestion" or "request" in the Subject line.

Before sending in the suggestion
Try version 18.0 and 20.0

short answer is that I made some edits to the style_explorer.css and style1.css files. another forum member provided the info on what prompts to change... I can't find the thread right now....apologies...

This is fixed. The Web server folders & files table wasn't remembering the sort column and order after a page refresh.
ProScan never had the capability to remember the sort column and order.
