    radio also has to be programmed for the aux mic/ptt, if that is what you want to use. and correct jumper on board of desktop box. intercom switch shoudl be in middle position if no ddc connected.

    All GFC radios have been updated or replaced for narrowband,, most all repeaters and the replacement are p25 capable and some are used (p25, depending on district), a couple of repeaters are in the works for coverage problems in narrowbanding. should see the new freq.'s in the fcc database...

    If you a group training, you bring your cache of radios, you have already planned with what freq's you will be using, this is also if you are providing this emergency op service during a emergency, the NIFOG is a great tool used for this. 99% of the radios in the state used by emergency agencies...

    we put all our pc's in the electronics room (space and heat) then used "black box" to route via ethernet all the mouse/video/monitor.....just another alternative(only thing in dispatch room is monitors/mouses/keyboard/speakers/headset jacks.....)

    If all the manufactures of the super radios (multi-band), were trying to push interoperability, Why would they not have all the frequencies form the NIFOG already in them? (then you would only add your local jurisdiction freq/systems) The salesmen show up and say they have the greatest radio...

    DNR On UCSO

    I believe they do have a statewide system of repeaters, and very active at times, I have yet to meet a DNR that did not have a VHF radio. Having local jurisdiction radio is their best interoperability. http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?aid=846
