unitrunker setup

Why does this box continually vary in numerical value from ~0 to 70, and mostly hover around 40-50? I am about 3-4 miles from the antenna with direct line of sight. Is there a good guide to help me optimize my setup? Is it normal behavior for the green bar to fluctuate constantly?
