10 & 12 Meter near Berlin, NJ

I live in Berlin and I haven't been able to hear anything on 10 and 12 meter HAM bands at all. I found alot of repeater freqs. in south jersey and I listen all the time but I don't hear anything at all.Does anyone know of any active frequiencies in my area? Thanks

It's quite likely that the 10m repeaters aren't going to be very active, if they're on the air at all right now. Low sunspots and a quiet sun means there's probably not a lot of interest in using the repeaters. The 10 and 12 meter bands are going to be this way for the next year or so, barring any solar flares or coronal hole enhancements. That's not to say that you can't work any DX on 10 or 12 right now - you can - but it would be a whole lot easier if propagation would cooperate. It's likely that there will be brief openings from time to time, but it's almost a sure thing they won't last long. 73s Mike

There are some locals around the area here that chat on 10m ssb. I can't remember the exact frequency but it around 28.440 if I remember correctly. Also if and when the band opens there is a repeater on 29.660 in north Jersey that will be very easy to hit. Only problem is you'll probably hear 2 or 3 other repeaters on the same frequency if it opens up nice.
