Fortunately, GA
I was asked a question by a fellow RR member from NC about P-25 traffic on 151.460, a GA DNR frequency. It is also an input frequency for a NC repeater. GSP was mentioned, as well as some traffic around some undisclosed lakes. Has anyone in N GA come across any similar traffic on the DNR repeaters?
I did hear some P-25 encryption today, but wasn't near the scanner. Lots of pager interference though.
TIA,
Larry

Hear DNR's LE operations on it often...digital but not encrypted. Repeater is in Blairsville area. They had a pretty big car chase a few months ago that started in Hiawassee and came west into Blairsville.

UPDATE: Gee...I didnt' have to wait long for traffic...and it's state, not federal. The dispatcher ID's as "GSP GAINESVILLE" and the NAC is 241. The mobile units call this repeater site "Gumlog" which is an area in northern Union County, north of Blairsville. They sound like DNR units doing LE ops on local lakes. DNR might not have dispatchers on evenings and weekends and their comms are probably handled by a regional GSP office, in this case - Gainesville. (That's my best guess, anyway)

Original reply:
Sorry Chris, I never gave the access code a thought, but I just set the BCD-996D on that channel and changed it to "NAC Search" but being it's Friday afternoon and with the federal closures - who knows when the repeater will come up again. I'll give a reply here if I get any hits.

What's the NAC you're receiving? Any chance it's 110?
