170.4250 MHz R (P25 Digital)

I think this is coming from the Philadelphia area, but could be from NYC. I often hear a somewhat weak repeater on this. Now I'm hearing two repeaters at different signal strengths on it at the same time. It appears that people on both of these repeaters are talking together, but since I don't have a digital scanner, I can't tell. Does anyone know who uses this? Thanks.

Well, the FBI could be using it, let's face it, they can do what ever they want pretty much and they are all over the VHF spectrum. Here's a link to a page I found where this is documented as the input to a FEMA repeater...

This might be the "roving survelliance repeater" from Philly, I've heard P25 comms on here, also went to non encrypted when they were in Bucks County, somebody said they had better coverage that way. 170.7625 and another 170 freq were used for this, it changed about every 2-3 weeks.

I have heard them in the mornings up here in north central Connecticut. They start talking about 0530 every morning. It was always encrypted until Wednesday and Thursday mornings where one half was in the clear and they were talking about a vehicle being parked and doing drive by's. I had it listed as Diplomatic Security Service but it most likely is the FBI.
