2 alarm fire in Brownsburg 3-20-2011 Sunday

2 alarm fire in Brownsburg at 110 East Northfield Drive.2:15AM, Radio traffic is on Safe-t talkgroup 33344.

Some follow-up on this fire.

The location is the row of shops across Northfield Drive from K-Mart. The building is brick and concrete block construction, but the facade across the front of the building above the storefronts is constructed of mostly wood. I talked to the operator of the UPS Store at that location this evening. He said the fire started in the sign for the restaurant next to the UPS Store and burned the length of the facade before anyone noticed. All of the shops and restaurants in the building have sustained some amount of smoke and water damage. A fire/flood restoration firm is was busy today cleaning up the mess and building access routes from the parking lot under the facade to the storefronts. The UPS Store is open, but that's the only business open as of this evening.

I was out that way today Tuesday 3-22-2011 around 12:30PM Fire/Flood restoration team was still on the scene.I received a Telephone call on Sunday Morning around 1:45AM about the strip mall fire.Bownsburg Fire along with Danville, Plainfield, Pittsboro,Wayne Twp(Marion County) and Pike Engine 112 and Ladder 112 were also on the scene.
