Twobravo,

LOOK AT THE LAST LINE OF THE POST THAT I ADDED. You had been asked several times if you were a ham and you ignored them. Then while I was in the reply screen and could not read see your post arrive you finally answered the question. So I added this:
I was writing this while you were posting the one above that says you are not a ham. So that would explain your lack of knowledge. Perhaps you should research before you make such claims.
in case you missed it. Now go back and check the time on my last post and the one of yours right above it. And you tell me that you can go do the research to make the quotes, post the url and type the rest of the message in less than a minute.

When you make statements like this one:
For example, I don't think I'm supposed to be using my 100W VHF mobile to talk to folks on the 2M band, right?
and then "forget" to answer when asked point blank if you are a ham the impression is left that you are and should know what you are talking about.

Now what do you really expect when you were given an answer to your question several times and kept on adding what ifs and getting the same answer over and over. Let me sum it up for you, HAM EQUIPMENT IS NOT LEGAL ON PS FREQUENCIES AND UNLISCNESED PERSONS ARE NOT ABLE TO LEGALLY TRANSMIT ON AMATEUR RADIO SERVICE FREQUENCIES. PERIOD.

Do you have the money to spare to be the test case and take it to the supreame court if neccesary? You may argue that it was a life and death situation and may convince a jury to agree with you, but it will not be a cheap victory.

buh, bye

1 Ham Radio except for a couple of frequencie ranges are allowed up 1500 watts pep.

2 ham radios are type accepted by the fcc or they wouldn't have that little fcc tag on the rear.

3 you can use commercial gear on ham radio frequencies which is allowed by the fcc, but not vice versa as long as you are a licensed ham.

Sorry to read about your cat in your sig K5MAR. Tough day for ya?

Yeah, that's why I'm not at work, took a personal day. She was 18 years old, a good long life. But I wanted 18 more. :( The tag line is a tribute to a good companion who has left a large hole for such a small being. Thanks

Life goes on.

I know what you mean.

My wife and I adopted tortie sisters from the Tulsa Cat Clinic back in 2000. With out a doubt, they quickly have become part of our lives. :) Even though they are littermates, they both have different personalities.

This is Ally with a TravelBug before we released it:
