2002 CVPI Mobile Install

Hey all..
Finally got my pro 197 in my car. I was originally going to get a transmission hump mount, but figured this worked better, and saved me $90!

I took the console apart and drilled three holes for the scanner into the outside of the inside part of the console. I wanted to keep all the screws and wires hidden as much as possible, so this was a way to do that. I then drilled a hole in the inside-bottom of the console to thread all the wiring through. After that I moved the coax under the passenger seat and through the hole in the console. I ran the power cable from where the cup holders would normally go, down to the driver side floorboard, under the driver's seat, through the hole in the console, and into the scanner. Then I drilled the holes and installed the Moto speaker. Thanks to NeFire242 for that speaker.

I would have liked to have drilled the holes lower so the scanner didn't stick out as much, and also hide the wires coming from the 12v plug, but other than that I'm really happy with how this install went

Not bad. I would have just left the factory pull out cup holders there and get power from the accessory power leads down near the kick panel on the passenger side. That would clean up the install a little.

Yeah. That would have been nice however the cup holders were not in the car when I bought it. Plus, I don't really trust my craftsman-ship to be working with power leads hahah. Thanks for the input, though

Looks good the only suggestion I would make is to flip that motorola speaker. It is the little things that detract from and otherwise perfect installation. Also, the little things show how professional a job it is. Other than that good job.

Thanks for the input! Means a lot coming from a "pro"

I would have liked to have put the speaker right side up too, however it didn't fit. If I put it the right way, the speaker would have been holding the console up, so to speak. It actually fit better up side down, which is what matters most.
