Hey guys, I spent the afternoon putting a mobile/base unit in my car and I wanted to share it with you all. Feedback is appreciated if ever I decide to change it up.

Components include:
-Nokia external speaker from a handsfree car kit I had around
-Antenex QW152 Antenna
-Antenex MB8UB 3/4 hole brass mount
-Antenex LBTB3400 black stainless trunk groove mount
-Uniden BC350a base/mobile scanner

I installed the scanner in a storage pocket in my car so that the door could be closed to conceal the scanner when needed.

Looks great , had a 350a stuck in a Tahoe Cubby hole like that a few years ago - good job on the Antenna install too.

Thanks a lot, I took a good while on that antenna mount to make sure it was level to the front/back and side to side.

Very clean install, very stealth. Only thing that gives it away is the antenna. Would be a good car to have in the "hood" for radio concealment.

BTW, what kind of speaker is that?

It is part of a Nokia handsfree phone car kit cark-91. It was totally handsfree, it also had a privacy headset, radio interupt and an external antenna. It was the best car kit I've ever seen, too bad nokia quit making those phones that would fit it.

Nice... I like the "hidden" feature. I'd rather have all gear in the open, but theft is a real problem where I work (lovely city of Inglewood... always up to no good).

same...the cops ive talked to in my area don't care, they just say that there may be a jerk who will...(one of the cops is the same guy that told me that he was able to get his old cruiser over 150mph..he may be pulling my chain but he sounded pretty serious)

If the cars are well maintained and have good air filters and fuel pumps and tires on them, no problem.

now, keep in mind that he was probably on the flattest, straightest piece of highway around, and don't think for a minute that he would have been able to actually turn at that speed :p

On - topic, nice install! I bet you could sneak a BCT-15 in there ;)

Nice Install! I really like the "covered" part. Was it just an empty compartment before or did you have to remove your radio or something?

It was an empty storage compartment. I had to take it out and remove some material for the scanner to fit lengthwise (depth). The height and width of the pocket fit the scanner exactly.
