Radio frequencies are kinda up in the air. Wether or not old team channels and Indy frequencies have changed or remain same. Re will not have ota programming for Re branded radios at Indy Events. I'm figuring out who the new provider/s are. Wether anyone will be renting selling in the gypsy tent areas im very currious. Anyone in St Pete? Lol. If anyone is at any Early Indy Events. Please make notes. Close call and search is our best friends 450-470 mhz.

I am in St Pete. No scanner rentals or OTA anywhere. I was not happy. REI told me INDYCAR decided to use a different radio provider. I saw nothing at the track at all.

Attached is my master list to cross reference and check the tone codes.

I use an SC230 to search and store, then use ArtSport to export to .csv and check against this spreadsheet. I will not attend a race until May to continue scanning.

Awesome file! Mr Chocolate!! Us radio geek indy fans will have to work together this year to figure it out lol. Been chatting with Dan from Indy. He runs a awesome site mentioned in the indy wiki. There's a new fcc license for indy car... but only licensed for a few indy races.go figure.

The printed pdf did not show frequencies... only if u click on the each individual car does it show up. Spotter guide also doesn't list media officials and drivers channel 2.

All four of these were active today in Texas. All Encrypted DMR.
451.200
452.125 S1 CC3
461.050
463.300 S1 CC10

Race Control was on 468.825 in the clear.

All Frequencies on the Spotters Guide were good.
I love the "clear" but frown 🙁 on the "E"

So the official provider of radio goodies to Indy series emailed me. They have no plans to sell rent freqs or radios-scanners to fans. Booooooo hiss. Lol There response was its on the spotters guide. Yes,true but only primary channel. Which I mentioned is often not used if they have radio or comm issues. No official/media..Trying to stay on topic of thread.... Indy asked fans in a extensive survey what they can do better. I sure wish I can edit that survey haha. I've heard of many fans upset they can't buy rent scanners or lists this year at Indy events.

Who is the new official provider anyhow? When I looked at the Indycar website it was still displaying the Racing Electronics logo. From the TV coverage, it looked like the Indycar officials were no longer using Motorola portables.... unless they were very new models.

Racing Communications, Inc. [SCANNERS] out of Ga..and to follow up indycars marketing emailed me back that they are trying to do something to better inform fans of scanners rentals etc? Wether this is some press related release or something on there socials I guess we shall see. I am happy they are listening. I told them about radioreference.com and also 2022 RACE SCANNER FREQUENCIES. Dan made a excellent page everyone should check out!! This is a different place then who is listed as the tech contact on the new FCC license. I'm unsure yet is the fcc license going to change the 468 current freq they use?Let's hope all officials don't go enc.

As I recall, the 468 Race Control frequency is specifically referenced in the Indycar rulebook that it must be monitored by every team. I don't think it will go away from open analog modulation as the teams radios are using a wide variety of digital modes (DMR, NXDN, etc. ) for their own communications and obviously the digital formats are incompatible, but analog is a common denominator ;)
