If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I purchased a used PD362i on ebay. I have a couple of these radios now. This radio is a bit newer. My older HT's have FW that is 2.xx series. This radio has ver. 5.01.02.003. I have not seen FW 5.xx before, and can't read the radio with my newest CPS which is 2.06.xx. It was last programmed in late 2022. Anyone know what CPS I need?

Thanks.

CPS you need is the 5.01 version to match radios with FW version 5 radios. Pseudo Trunk.
Just finished programming 80 of these V5 units. I have to archive so many older versions for other customers.

Thanks. I found out about the so called "unified software" that looks at the radio when it's read, determines what version CPS is needed, and loads it. I purchased it from TARadio in Fl. and it worked fine. It did load the V5.01.05 CPS as you said. Ironically, I purchased another used PD362i from the same ebay seller, and the second one had the 2.0xx firmware that I was used to seeing.

ok good. I forgot to mention the Unified Tool for pseudo trunk series. Version 5 FW the mfgr removed some capabilities for features available from previous FW versions. I learned it the hard way. Good luck on your endeavors.

Hi, I have the same problem, I bought a CPS and after connecting the BD615 walkie-talkie, the program wants to update to version v5. Where can I download the update?
