I find both to be pretty equal reception-wise for VHF aircomms. The R30 adds the ability to monitor UHF aircomms. One nit for me with the A25 is the lack of a skip feature when in scanning mode to bypass AWOS broadcasts, etc. If it had to be just one for me, I'd lean toward the R30; however, I enjoy both!
Thanks for the info. I have an R30 and have a general curiosity about the A25. Not being able to skip frequencies during a VFO scan would be annoying. I do the majority of my airband scanning using memory scan so that would not be a big issue for me.
What antenna do you have on the President Randy? Some may be curious about the antennas used for my shack. I currently use DPD's OmniX Scanner Base Antenna for VHF/UHF and PAR's End-Fedz EF-SWL half wave antenna for < 30 MHz. Antenna signals are distributed to my receivers using Stridsberg's VHF/UHF and HF active multicouplers.

What is the keyboard between the keyboard and the mouse? The roller ball device with the multiple keys?
