Morning all,

I recently ran into memory issues with my unit where programming the scanner would result in not all of my systems displaying properly (gives me a memory limitation issue). Talking with Bob from Proscan we determined it isnt a software issue but something in the scanner itself. Nothing in my program even comes close to the scanner limitations

my cables work fine, so I figured I would try a reinstall of the firmware....that was my downfall. Now the scanner wont accept the firmware update (Flashing blue and red screen). It deletes the old firmware but when I get to the point where it tries to apply the new firmware the program crashes. Has anyone run into this before? does it need to go back to Uniden for service?

Very likely. The flashing screen is not a good sign. Will it go into firmware update mode any more (solid blue screen)?

Also, what hardware and software are you using the update the scanner?

It will go into the firmware update screen but it fails every time it starts to write the new firmware update. I am using the latest Uniden updater on a windows 7 machine. My programming software is Proscan.

How do I perform a master reset?

Try another PC. Which updater (exactly) and version are you using?

Tried that and that also didn't work. I am using BC_VUP 3.00 Revision 01 and I am trying to upload 1.11.01 to the scanner. I also tried 1.10.00 with no positive results

updated the uploader, Still no go.

I can get to the step where the uploader tries to write the new firmware into the scanner then I get a popup stating that the scanner has detected an error and the firmware update has failed.

I'm wondering if something has been corrupted within the scanners memory itself and that caused the initial errors and maybe that is preventing the firmware "reboot"? I have no idea
