I recently bought a 396XT and a 996XT and I have a couple of questions...

The first has to do with transfering info from RR to the 396XT. I attempted this last night and for some reason the computer said I was denied access. I am a paying member and thought all you had to do was sign in and then you could pick what you wanted programed in.

The second question I have has ot do with the 996XT...If I build some templetes for the 396XT can I also use the same identical templete's for my 996XT? Looking to save some programing time and yet be able to know that what is in bank 1 of the 396XT is the same as the 996XT.

On the first question it seems like there is just something small I am not doing to get the info into the ARC XT PRO software.

Thank you for the help.

You have to be on a minimum of ARC-XT version 1.1 build 3 to import data from RR. Are you on this version?

As said, make sure that you have the latest build downloaded and installed. I also found that I had to restart my PC after the installation or the update wouldn't function correctly.

The software is designed to work with both the 396XT and 996XT, so files are interchangeable.

Thank you for the help. I did the software upgrade and that seems to have fixed it after a quick re-start. I did transfer one file as a test and plan to see how that works before I do any more transfers of data.

Good to know files can be interchanged between both 996xt and 396xt.

Thank you for the help.

You can also use freescan as you can transfer programming between many different Uniden dma scanners
