Hi guys, using my new 396xt and trying to determine any TGIDs on a local freq. that is running p25. I set it up like the Uniden TWiki says to, and I'm at the point in the instructions say "Once you create the system and site, you can Search the system with no problems." and that's what I've been doing. I had a couple hits while searching, but it says the TGID is '1h' which doesn't seem valid.

Any thoughts?

Seems the 'net is somewhat silent on single frequency trunking so there hasn't been much in the way of help that I could find.

Thanks.

1h would mean the talkgroup is displayed in HEX. If you look at the TGID display settings you probably set it that way unknowingly.

Yes you are right, it does look like hex, but not a valid format as I said. It seems like I should be looking for a 3 digit hex using only the letters A-F and the numbers 0-9. H isn't in that range.

"h" stands for "HEX." This is the common depiction of a hex number. You need the "h" so that you can tell when you see, for example "16h" it means hexadecimal 16, and not decimal 16.

Thanks, UPMan. That means the TGID I am looking for is 001 HEX then?

I think you need to look at the Edit System Options for that system.

EditSysOption < UnidenMan4 < TWiki

You'll find that the set ID format determins what you see on the display for the talkgroup, HEX vs. Decimal.

If I'm thinking correctly, your looking for a "decimal" TGID not HEX.

Yes, it means you are seeing TGID 001 HEX (which is also going to show as TGID 1 in decimal).
