Just a quick question. May sound silly but I do not want to get burned again. My 436 HP works perfectly with my Win 7 software.

Is there any reason to believe a new 536 would not work? Could I buy one with confidence? Thank you. Greg

I have both, and no Windows issues with either. I'm also on Win 7.

I couldn't agree more as I took full advantage of that deal myself. Ordered a 536 from Amazon Sunday and received it today to go along with my 436 that I've had for about 2 years. I just about pulled the trigger on those new TRX scanners but just couldn't do it. I'm using Windows 10 and didn't have no problem updating the firmware and adding my favorites lists to the new scanner. Hope you enjoy your 536!

Thanks. Let me know what you think of that new 536. I love my 436. Have fun as well. The best thing I did in a long time was to go with Amazon Prime. I set the clock when I received it and I've not had any problems with it staying set. I leave my scanner on all the time, just turn it down when I go to bed. My 436 never had that problem with the clock staying set like some on here have described happening to theirs. The only issue I had with my 436 was the sd card went bad in it about a year ago.

So far I love the 536!! Where I live we just have conventional p25 systems to monitor along with some analog and it decodes those wonderful. I can't say how well either does trunking simulcast systems due to none in our area. No DMR or Provoice down here either so I see no need to do the upgrade to that.

Audio on the 536 is clear, but it does have a bassy sound to it as others on here has described.

Quick opinion here.

On my mac pro, running win 10 via boot camp, sentinel software has been flawless, and writes to both the scanner and card without an issue.

I just got mine from amazon the other day. No problems with software. I am running windows 10 on parallels with my mac. Great scanner. I upgraded to the dmr and provoice keys. worth it as I can hear some OKC stuff now.

You do not need to install another copy of Sentinel for the 536 as you already have it for the 436, the 436 and 536 use the same version. You can also share Favorites Lists.

I do appreciate all the replies. It was one of the easiest things I've done lately. Plugged the new 536 into my computer, opened Sentinel, and downloaded an exact copy of what was there for my 436.

Has anyone noticed bad links to RR in the emails? When I get an email that a new post has been made and I click on the link, I often get a dead page. I don't remember what it says..something about "page not found or similar.
