668 vs PSR800

Single conventional and analog on the 668 were fine however

Will that affect P25 decoding also? The upgraded Pro-668 has trouble receiving a P25 trunked system that the upgraded PSR-800 receives perfectly.

Assumming the same antenna is on both and the antennas, on the exact same dsp and cpu firmware, the scanners are in perfect working condtiton with the EXACT same setup and programming....location is everything, move it a inch and it may be better. But these 2 scanners should have the same reception.

The third time I updated CPU firmware fixed it. No clue why it didnt work the other times. Bizarre.. I am still gonna keep the Psr800 as I like the softer glow of the screen

If at first you don't succeed........ Did you update the firmware using EZ Scan or the CPU updater I linked to?

I have had instances where it took 3 tries to update a non-upgraded Pro-668. That is not an isolated occurrence.

I believe the OP said both were Whistler updated 1080 clones.

Side by side the 800 trounces the 668... its struggles to stay locked on a CC when the 800 locks on just fine...

Are the internals different?

Both have the official Whistler upgrade... most current CPU and DSP

I have both radios and the 800 received better on 700/800 systems both before and after the OFFICIAL upgrade for Dmr and Nxdn.

The upgrade does not give you NXDN. DMR only!
