I'm wounding if Whistler is dead... after waiting to see what the new tx100 would be. it was released that whistler was backing out of this project. and still nothing from whistler and the TRX 2 just can't keep up, i have had more problems with my TRX 2 then I care to admit.
I hope that Whistler will go back to the table and bring the fans of Whistler something really great. that won't cost arm and leg to buy.
in the mean time my TRX2 may it rest in peace.. cause god knows it can't do anything else.

Was Whistler ever Alive in the scanner market?

All they ever did was work with existing GRE designs. They never actually designed a scanner radio from the ground up period.

Their PR spokesperson has moved on the greener pastures and no-one has taken her place. All you see from Whistler is sales on cheap copy antennas and sales on old scanners. We were told after the failed TX100 that they Whistler were designing new scanners that was 2 plus years ago or close to it.
Now I have seen where Whistler is still fixing scanners have you looked into having the TRX repaired?

What's wrong with your TRX-2 and have you contacted Whistler about it?

When I go to update it it give me the old Digital version that my County was using. I keep trying to update the firmware and it still doesn't change . I'm about ready to pull my hair out. Did you install ezscan on your computer? Install ver 3.40 directly from whistlergroup.com as the version on the card may be out of date and will throw an certificate error. All updates can be done via ezscan MOST of the time, you also need to install comport driver for the scanner (it's on the sd card of new scanner or download it from whistlergroup.com)

To install the updated drivers or library updates the scanner has to be OFF.

I recommend for configuration and library updates you use a card reader as it is 100times faster then the usb cable however you MUST use the usb cable for DSP and CPU firmware updates.

Also by a spare SANDISK 8gb CLASS 4 sd card for a spare, keep it programmed for a quick fix when the card gets corrupt.

I have never been able to upgrade firmware and DSP using EZ-Scan. I always needed to download the stand alone upgrade program from Whistler. The P25 II might need the TRX-1 from 2019 to use a more recent firmware version. But an update of the Library should give you the option to see the new system. Have you checked that the info in RR's database have the new system info including TG's? Both Uniden and Whistler take their database from RR so the source have to be correct.

Ubbe if I remember EZ Scan was updated and it took the newer version to connect to the web to download the Library Updates.
My copy is VERSION 3.40 copyright 2020.
My copy updates DSP and FIRMWARE.

HOW did you get version 3.40 of EZ Scan? I still have version 2.50 Build 692 and when I use EZ Scan and go to
Updates - Check for PC Application Updates (or even Check for All Updates) it tells me I am up to date and
that no updates are available.

Even going to the Whistler site https://whistlergroup.com the MOST RECENT
EZ Scan to be found there is still v2.50 build 692. Where does version 3.40 come from? I have 2 PSR-800
that I paid Whistler to do the upgrades on to WS-1080 but the EZ Scan has never been updated.

The TRX-2 uses a different version of EZ Scan... the latest version of EZ Scan for TRX-2 is 3.40--the latest version for the WS1080 is 2.50. You're up-to-date.

I'm so rusty on doing things! I got an error (see attachment) on my laptop with Windows 11. I uninstalled the program and need help reinstalling and hope it fixes the problem. I'm on the website and see the TRX1 downloads and there are SEVEN downloads Do I need to download them all?

The Whistler download site is stating that they are having some difficulties, so that may be why you're getting a web error. If you already have the driver and your DSP is up-to-date, you'll only need to download the EZ Scan software--this file:

I may have deleted everything. I need to leave the house soon but will be back later. I tried to reinstall all seven of the listed downloads.
On the second or third on the list I got a strange thing about downloading from DROPBOX which I didn't understand or want to risk.

Yes, I'm not sure why they send you to the dropbox for the download, but I did download the file--it's an .exe--so I scanned it and found no issues.

If it were me, I'd only download the EZ Scan Software file--the file I circled in my previous post. You can update the DSP, CPU and Library from within the EZ Scan Software--under the Updates Tab--once you've got the main app up and running.

Thanks. Before I read this I transferred all my files from my desktop to the laptop and got lucky finding the correct download there.
I have a new question that I'll post tomorrow. I think I've seen somewhere how you can enlarge the text on EZ Scan. My old eyes are
having trouble seeing it on my laptop.

Yep, right-click on your desktop icon, click Properties, click on the Change High DPI Settings button, then check the box Override High DPI Scaling Behavior, then OK, OK.
