As of today is there an EZ Scan update that works for my TRX-1?
If so do I find the link here? Think I've updated once before but don't remember how.

If you go to the updates tab and select check for all updates or PC Software updates it will tell you and install it for you.

Thanks, just wanted to be sure because it looks like there were problems when it came out. I'll try it in the morning.

Ooops, I really am tired. I always check the EZ Scan updates.
I meant to ask if there were any updates for the actual TRX-1 scanner.

You need to do what @N1GAW told you to do above. That will tell you the answer for both.
We can't see the firmware version in "your" TRX-1.

If you check for ALL updates and it says there are none, then there are none unless you didn't plug your scanner in first before checking.
The TRX-1 needs to be hooked to the computer and off before doing the ALL update check.

I hear ya! I turned 71 four days ago and age has really been taking it's toll on me. Coffee usually does the trick for me too!

Are you using the latest version of your models programming software?
You may need to go to whistlergoup.com and download it directly if not and then install it directly over your current version.
There was a certificate change a while back that needed new versions of programming software to be installed for some models.

Which scanner model are you getting the certificate error with? And which software name and version are you using?

Pretty sure that's physical limitation on the TRX-1 and not a SW or FW fixable feature.

Good question! I was always perplexed by that difference between the two.

Thanks for that. As for the scanner, for my area, it is perfect except for that one feature that it cannot have.

I didn't realize that. What other function does it perform?

ETA...The reason I ask is a) from the short time I had one I didn't recall it having one and b) that would have been a major redesign from the PSR-800 which it is based on.

Please ignore my post #75. I guess I was having another "senior moment". I just switched from all Uniden scanners to all Whistler scanners a couple weeks ago and I guess I got the two whistlers mixed up.

I'm wounding if Whistler is dead... after waiting to see what the new tx100 would be. it was released that whistler was backing out of this project. and still nothing from whistler and the TRX 2 just can't keep up, i have had more problems with my TRX 2 then I care to admit.
I hope that Whistler will go back to the table and bring the fans of Whistler something really great. that won't cost arm and leg to buy.
in the mean time my TRX2 may it rest in peace.. cause god knows it can't do anything else.
