Watching a DRT radio demo here in Orlando at NSREN; a general scan of the area near the airport shows a 900 MHz P25 system on the air.

It's not in the Radio Reference database for Orange County; in fact, I can't find reference to anything in the 900 Band except Gem Electronics, U-Studios and some taxi cab company - all (analog) Smart net.

There used to be a 900 MHz Smartnet System at Orange County Convention Center. Has it been upgraded to single-site P25 (what the Navy calls Smartzone 'LE').

Any help is appreciated.

900 P25

Didn't have time to copy exact freqs, but I want to say I saw some in the 937-939 range...DRT ID'd the system as 'ASTRO P25'...we're on a mag-mount antenna on the 10th floor of the Doubletree on 436, near the airport.

No reference on Radio Reference.

Might-could be Motorola experimenting with something here.

I used to manage the old Smartnet System at the Convention Center...noticed it also doesn't come up in the Radio Reference d'base.

Has it been retired?

What did the the county do with those (5) frequencies, or did they just let them expire?

Thanks for getting back.

900 SmartNet at the convention center got retired years ago. The five channels got transferred to OUC then they were recoordinated for multiple sites. I believe there still is a 900 megahertz analog SmartNet system running at Delta Airlines at OIA as well as a 900 Meg TRBO system on the terminal at OIA.

I'm wondering why he's asking what seems to be an unrelated question in someone else's thread?
