A cheap toy, but it looks kinda fun to play with. (SI4732 0.5-108mhz Pocket Mini Radio)

I got the ATS 20+ last night! I haven’t had much time to play around with it yet, but it’s in one piece and working perfectly. Using the telescoping antenna, I was able to pick up AM and FM broadcasts, shortwave around 9 MHz, WWV, and even some 40-meter CW—all while just relaxing in my recliner before bed. For only $22, it’s an awesome little device!

I've seen amplifiers, cables, headphones and stuff like that made in America, even my more expensive shortwave radio is made in China, although my SDS100 is made in Vietnam. But I have to wonder, where does the guy who left me that message above buy his shortwave radios? Honestly, I don't know of any shortwave radios built in America do you?

I got an email from some dude today which read...

I replied, "Thank you, I will."
I damn near spit my coffee out laughing at your comeback. Great response! I happen to love my Anytone 500-M radio "Chinese Piece of Junk."

For the misinformed, Marshall Amplifiers are now going to be built in China. I wonder if they will surpass the quality and variety of products offered to consumers. Not all of us can afford boutique electronic equipment like the privileged ones.

That Anytone looks nice, compact and functional... even has FM. Hell yeah, if it does what you want, who cares what some radio snob thinks.

If anyone is interested, there is a You Tube on how to maximize performance on a submenu. I never stray into the in-between frequencies.

However, I was not impressed with channel-changing capabilities on the microphone. I had a two-way radio place put an Astatic on the plug. I believe this has a higher wattage on the CB part than a regular CB with FM.

I have had only one conversation on FM. One day, I hope that there is a national trucker FM CB channel other than channel 19.

However, I would be even happier if the radio was bugged by the Chinese. I have a Ph.D. in profanity.

Anyone here ever received the AliExpress 30 day refund? I'm sort of hoping it gets help up in customs for a few days.
Why? Well, because Charlie.PNG and they didn't even bother to ship it until the day it was supposed to arrive...

Beta.PNG

... as of yesterday it just left CCR land... Alpha.PNG ... so it has 8 days to get here.

Well, it's about what I expected it to be, but they sent me the wrong one. I wanted the telescopic antenna, but they sent me the loop. The built-in speaker is next to worthless, so amplified speakers or earbuds would be best.

I ordered one with the loop antenna (supposed to be here Thursday) so I'll probably get your telescopic antenna. :)

Did it arrive on time?
Yep! It’s a nifty little receiver. I’m honestly surprised by how much it picks up with the loop. It’s a bit trickier to operate than the ATS20+ since you have to time your clicks and double-clicks on the knob just right. I used headphones, but the headphone jack is a bit finicky—it only plays in the left or right ear unless I pull the plug out slightly, then I get both. The audio is a bit weak and noisy, but for the size and display, it’s awesome! Definitely a fun, budget-friendly gadget. That said, the ATS20+ is the clear winner—especially since I snagged it for about five bucks less!

Elecrafts are supposed to be made in America.
Norcal Sierra and other homebuilts are made pretty much wherever you make them. :)
Thanks

Yeah, I didn't mention the Elecraft brand because those are amateur transceivers, and not simple shortwave radio receivers.

DON'T DO THE FLASH IT BRICKED MY RADIO there are others (but not all) in the YouTube comments section that have experienced the same. I would hold off for now. If I find a fix I'll post it here.
Have you opened your radio apparently there is a 16mb and 8mb. He made a firmware for the 8mb
