I'm sure most have seen the recent ramblings in the For Sale forum regarding bad experiences with a seller or trader. Again, we seem to have problems following the rules for that forum. Those type of comments are not to be posted in that forum, as Lindsay has repeatedly had to remind us. I fully understand the frustration of someone who has gotten screwed, and I am not saying don't complain, but I wonder if it's time to set up a new forum specifically for that purpose. The ham site QRZ.com http://www.qrz.com/ib-bin/ikonboard.cgi?;act=SF;f=10 has a "Ham to Ham References" forum that serves that purpose. If a deal goes south, then you can post about your problem. If you want to commend a good seller or trader then you can do that. When I am looking at a piece of equipment being sold by a ham I go there and do a search to see if there are any comments about that person. At least we won't clutter up the For Sale forum here with such comments. I suppose that some might feel the Tavern is a good place for those, but I think a separate forum would be better so we can concentrate such posts for better viewing. Just an idea I thought worth considering.

Excellent idea that will improve the Classifieds and keep 1 arguement from raging outa control like the current one. A feedback system for positive and negative is a good way to keep the slipshuckers out and you might consider making a rule that either 3 neg.'s or a confirmed burn and your banned.! RR is a fantastic forum with alot of great radio hobbyists and if you have to get tough to protect it - then do it! I say start zapping the rogues who disrupt, abuse and use the forum against its purpose.

I have mention this a long time ago, but nothing was done for this.
I think it is a great idea.
I think there should be 2 forums.1 for bad experiences and 1 for good so you won't spend hours reading through tons of stuff.
As for the bad experiences, people should just post what happened and thats it! I'm sure the person that got burned will do something to resolve there issue(I hope they would).

Just my 2 cents
No arguements intended

I thought I'd throw my opinion in here...

All things considered, I favor of fewer forums over more. My take is that buyers and sellers should add feedback to the For Sale/Items Wanted thread which initiated the transaction. Feedback for a sold BC396T is more meaningful than for a $1 BNC-PL259 adapter. When I'm considering a purchase from a member, I look up previous sales and it makes sense to closely associate the item purchased with feedback. Hope this makes sense.

Sure it makes sense. I think that would be fine if it could be done in a manner similar to the feedback attached to a user in ebay or yahoo auctions. I am not keen on adding narrative comments to the for sale or wanted threads as they exist now. I think it just turns that forum into a mess when we do that. However, if we could incorporate feedback ratings tied to a specific user ID as a separate, yet distinct attribute, that would be fine by me. My main concern is that we have some sort of formal feedback platform established, rather than the form that it takes.

I am not particularly concerned by the number of forums. I frequent a very small number of the total forums, based on my particular location and interests. However, I am not opposed to having numerous forums to give those with very specific interests their own platform.

I like this idea. These forums could be created in the classified sections so we have the two forums for trade, along with a good experiences and a bad experiences forum. This way it keeps the clutter out of the classifieds and anyone reading this stuff will want to be reading this stuff or else they wouldn't go to those forums.
