A quick question...

I'll be in Tulsa the week of 1/10/05 on a business trip from NJ, and I need to know what OHP Troop Tulsa is in. I don't want to program stuff from half-way across the state (if you know what I mean!)

Troop B headquarters is in Tulsa. Troop B includes Tulsa, Creek and Okmulgee Counties

OHP Troop B is Primarily on the OK DPS TRS. However, the Low Band frequencies are still used for car-to-car transmissions and for areas where 800Mhz coverage is poor.

Thanks! A good friend and co-worker was out there 3 weeks ago for a possible promotion interview, and said the city's pretty dead at night (?)

I figured I better bring my own form of entertainment! I've got a '96 - any digital to listen to out there?

The only thing currently digital is the local EMS service (EMSA), but it's encrypted, so no go, even on a 96.

I don't think the town is that dead at night, but then, I've never been to New Jersey either.

You'll want to be sure to program the TPD and TCSO IDs, especially if you are in town on Friday & Saturday night. It gets interesting, especially when the bars let out!

Forget the low band for the Tulsa area. OHP is almost strictly 800 in Tulsa. Remember that in Oklahoma OHP is pretty much strictly traffic enforcement. They are not like the east coast where they are state police.
Most law enforcement is done by city police and County Sheriff's.

I agree the only lowband you might program is 45.220, troopers talk amongst themselves on this freq. Also depending on where you are staying you might want to get the Broken Arrow Edacs system set-up into your 96. It covers B.A.,Bixby and Glenpool. These towns are east and south of Tulsa Proper.
