Active MWARA frequencies

Does anyone have a way of tracking which MWARA frequencies are in use at the moment? I know they are changed and updated throughout the day. I've found the linked updated guide for the Atlantic frequencies, but this info always seems to be incorrect.

No, actually it is pretty much correct.
it is going to depend on where YOU are and what your receive capabilities are.

In my experience I'd ballpark the Collins site as accurate around 75% of the time.

Gander Radio assigns their eastbound HF frequencies on VHF, monitor - Gander Radio 122.375

New York Radio assigns their HF frequencies on VHF, monitor - New York ARINC 129.000

San Francisco assigns their HF frequencies on VHF, monitor - San Francisco ARINC 131.950

San Juan Center assigns New York HF frequencies on VHF, monitor - San Juan Center 134.300

Typo should be 129.900, but the link is correct.

Listening this morning (1500 UTC) and New York was using all the frequencies listed on the Collins site as advertised.

Thanks. The reason I ask is I was listening to New York radio last night. I heard a transmission on 6577, with the controller saying 5550 was the backup at the moment. Neither was listed on the Collins site at that time.

And I greatly appreciate the links! I hadn’t seen the resources before. Do USAF flights also use MWARA frequencies? I noticed at the first link that the latest entry was a USAF flight on 11330. I’m assuming that’s New York radio CAR-B.

Bomber types don't have CPDLC so have to give full position reports (if they're not in a formation with Tankers, or on a secret tactical mission like the B-2s to Iran recently). Here is Gander Radio on 11279 working a B-52 flight (callsign ATOP 11) over the North Pole.

I noticed at the first link that the latest entry was a USAF flight on 11330. I’m assuming that’s New York radio CAR-B.

11330 is Tokyo Radio in this case. If you do a search using the registration or hexcode (ICAO box) you can find the complete message identifying the station - RJJJ. Or click the tbg map link and it will show you the aircraft route.

They seem to be slow to update the site at times. This morning the Collins site is only showing 8846 and 13297 active in the WAT* area. While 8846 and 13297 are active so is 8825 that's not listed. Same as yesterday when 8825 was active and the Collins site did show it, but it's not listed today for some reason.

The area descriptions don't make a lot of sense either. In reality the "Gulf of Mexico / S. America" frequencies correspond with the southern area of the WAT (south of Bermuda and generally south of M328). This area doesn't include the Gulf of Mexico or S. America.

The "Caribbean / N. Atlantic" and "Northeast U.S." frequencies correspond to the same northern area of the WAT (north of Bermuda and generally north of M328). So I'm not sure why they have 2 different listings.

The "Eastern Atlantic" area is accurate (east of 60W) and the frequencies listed are usually corrrect. The NAT-E area seems to have been removed with some of those frequencies now being used in the WAT area (like 8825 and 11309). With the NAT-A frequencies now covering all the Eastern Atlantic. This happend a few years ago but I've never seen anything updated in any docs. or charts so maybe not an official change.

I live in RI and these are the frequencies I hear on a consistent basis over the past 6 months. I left out 3-4mhz, 11mhz and 13mhz for now until I get another SDR. the 5,6,8,mhz bands are used 99% of the time from my experience and what I can hear from my location.


I've heard others but not with enough frequency or SNR to add it to my recording list.
