I like the new map layout. Not sure where or how to post this request so I'm putting here in the hope that those with the magic coding finger will see it.
This is in reference to the UNITS options in the setting (round cog wheel). It defaults to Aeronautical but I would prefer Imperial. Might it be possible for the program to remember the end user's selection?

The map has nothing to do with anybody here. You need to post on the Home - Serving the Flight Tracking Enthusiast - ADS-B Exchange forums.

Hey there, great so many of you like the new map.
It started as a modification of the dump1090-fa webinterface, but obviously has evolved quite a bit.

The history function hasn't been mentioned here explicitely, when you click on history in the aircraft details on the left, you can check past flights of the same airframe.

The track labels (K) work extremely well with that, you can also cycle through the legs the aircraft flew that day (detection is a heuristic, so it's not perfect).
Similar using the gear wheel menu you can toggle being shown 24h of trail when clicking a plane, or only showing the current flight since last takeoff (heuristic again).

I've read the remark about saving Imperial/Metric/Aeronautical, i'll check that :)

And before someone remarks that, the columns on the right and the labels need customization, i've been dreading to program that but i think i might have some good ideas.

All I can say is THANKS.

Only thing I miss is the owner info. (or maybe I'm missing a setting)

Some database stuff is still in the works.
Not sure if the owner info is part of what's being worked on. (But it's a common request)

@wiedehopf , thank you for your hard work on this. I confess, at first I wrestled with my "resistance to change", but that soon passed. It's given me great pleasure during this period of quarantine & I look forward to what refinements the future brings.

Military/Interesting

@MtnBiker2005 does the link above show both interesting and military? I know there isn't a lot of traffic tonight but I was not seeing any interesting aircraft, only military, I'll try tomorrow again, but just curious.

This is a great addition and I greatly appreciate the hard work of many that went into it.

Wouldn't it be nice if all the above links from #33 could be placed in one convenient place such as their own button or in a drop down menu on the new Adsbexchange map. Just a thought for the coders involved with this wonderful project.

Stay safe everyone

There is one convenient place that you can access all the URls, customized exactly how you like them and with your location, all mine are kept there. It's the BOOKMARK section of your browser, enter in the term you give the bookmark and there it is, how convenient, and doesn't make more work for the over worked coders.

Couldn't the same could be said for every option that is available on the display? Someone must have thought having those things on the page was worth it.

The problem is, most of the URLs above contain generic info that you customize, such as lat/long, aircraft icao filters, airport codes, ring size. The one that is consistent already has a button, military (U button). But perhaps a help page link, rather than it's own URL, with an explanation on how to set your own customized URLs would be helpful?

Just thinking back to the old ADS-BExchange page where there was a bunch more choices in the option window that would add many of those things. Having the ability to add/remove another filter without saving a new URL would seem much more efficient.
Not a complaint over how it is, just seems like having to save pages with the options selected is a bit clunky to me.

@MtnBiker2005 I have a feature request to add through URL or filter, and that is for Species. Currently I'm helping with a project where I need to look at just helicopters across the US, but can't figure out how to do that without zooming in to a limited area.

Thanks for considering this.
