If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Trying to add an Aina BT PTT VR mic and unable to get the PTT mic to work. The audio is routed as normal but nothing when the PTT on the bluetooth mic is pressed. The Aina was added in the accessory menu but still nothing out of PTT. Maybe a setting in Armada? Any help is appreciated.

Do you have "Use Hands Free Profile" checked? When you press the PTT on the Bluetooth mic, is it keying the radio but not passing audio, or not keying the radio at all?

Yes, the profile is checked. The radio does nothing when the PTT on the mic is pressed. The mic's LED lights up showing being pressed but that all. I can program all of the buttons on the mic to do whatever and they all work as programmed. Just no PTT thru the radio. Just assumed it is something in the Armada software, a setting or box or something.

Try it with Hands Free Profile unchecked. From the documentation:

Note:
• EFJohnson does not officially support any hands free devices
○ EFJohnson does not guarantee the functionality of any remote device connected using HFP.
• When this feature gets enabled, the headset profile gets disabled. This means that many of the devices on the supported Bluetooth device list will not work correctly, even though they may still connect to the radio.

There's also a warning against using HFP in a mission-critical setting.

per an email from Kenwood, the Aina BT mic has been deemed "unsupported" since Jan '24 due to technical issues. Would have been nice to know before buying one, lol.
