This evening at about 10:20pm I heard AirMed 20 give out a mayday call and the dispatch center tried to contact them, I am not sure if this was a drill or the real thing and was wondering if eveyone else heard it this evening?

It must have been a training exercise. I listened for a few minutes after the page when out. Sounded like business as usual. The dispatcher did make a comment about someone's acting skills. Makes me think it was training. I am glad that is all it was!
Brings back memories when we lost one of the choppers in Little Cottonwood Canyon a while back. I will never forget that radio traffic and the eerie silence as the dispatcher was calling for them with no response.

Also the memory of the chopper that went down in fog near SL Int Airport waiting to land. I was listening that night, it really was eerie.
Correct. But you should say "this is an exercise" quite often.
