Just a quick update. I don't know how many have noticed, but South Summit has move to digital talkgroups. I'm still trying to figure out what some of them are. I've got traffic on two different talkgroups calling out the same name. I really think they don't exactly know what channel they are on half the time yet. :)

Here's what I can confirm:
34704 COM1 DIGITAL
34736 COM2 DIGITAL
34768 COM3 DIGITAL
34800 COM4 DIGITAL

Alert channels are still the existing analog. The existing analog COM1-4 are still in use for knox box.

Once I figure out what the other channels are, I'll post them.

They're hheeeeerrrreee

Bath, Copley and Fairlawn are slowly moving to the county system today. There is still a lot of raffic on the Bath system. Here's what KWS and I have been able to catch with either live traffic or testing:

32816 Bath FD dispatch
32912 unknown PD
38896 "testing Fairlawn Fire Digital"

It seems odd that Bath and Fairlawn do not have TGIDs near each other. We may have to let them settle in a bit before tagging a lot. I'll at least post the Bath FD dispatch channel. They've been using it pretty heavily today.

[edit]
On second thought, I'm gonna hold on the DB submit. The 32xxx TGs seem out of place. They are right in the middle of some county TGs. I'm wondering if they are just moving there while changing radios or something. Holding for more research.
[/edit]

[edit 2]
32688 possible Copley FD
40720 possible Bath FD Alert (like old system was set up)

Note 32688 collides with existing Hazmat 1. I know this was logged years ago. I don't know if it has ever been active. FPO703 and I logged it along with the Green 1 and 2 TGs. They have never been used either.
[/edit 2]

Keep your ears open. Bath/Copley/Fairlawn seem to be using a lot of channels we had in the DB already. I was just listening to Copley test a knox box. "You'll have to go to the county knox box channel. One down from the alert channel." They ended up on 57616. We have that in the DB already as CSB Security. I don't know the last time we heard anything on that TG.

Like I said before, I need to wipe the system and start logging fresh. I'm sure some things have changed that we aren't aware of.

I recently ran to some old friends who are now APD officers and they told me I could scan using a RS Pro-96 but I would need some type of software.

Is this true that I can listen on a Pro-96 and what type of software are they referring too?

Many thanks.

1. Yes you can listen using a Pro-96. It is a digital capable scanner, and
the Summit County system is digital.

2. You don't need software to monitor, but a program like Win96 or ARC96 to program
it will save you from getting carpal tunnel.

Frank;

Good thing I caught your "hold for more research" edit. I was about to post the new catches to the DB. Please submit when you're ready.

BTW, any new info on FPO703? A couple of people down here were curious how long he'll be enjoying the state's hospitality (serves him right)...

Are these talkgroups digital?
I worked them into the DB as analog.
Let me know I'll correct them if so.

Mark,
Sorry about that. All of the new TGs from last night were digital. Need me to submit a change?

Hogwmn,
I did not forget Fairlawn. As of 2300 last night, both Fairlawn PD and FD were still on the Bath system. Copley had a fire run w/ them last night and Fairlawn was only on the old system. I'm guessing they move in a day or so.

There was really no need for them to move the same day. The old system will probably be up for the city services. They have their own dispatch. Barring a push from the county, they could stay there as long as they like. I'm told Fairlawn FD was the holdup for moving any earlier. Maybe they are still having radio problems.

Nope, I have corrected them.

We do need to get descriptions for COM 2, 3, 4 talkgroups when we
get a chance. Thanks for all the great info Frank.

Never had a description for COM2-4.

Fairlawn is possibly showing up:
38864 - Fairlawn PD dispatch ???
38896 - Fairlawn FD dispatch testing ???
40688 - Fairlawn FD tones only (no audio) testing ???

OK. I've got one that has me stumped. I was scanning in open mode to get some more talkgroups. Picked up a pair of 100 series cars "on B" on 39792. They mentioned the mall. Based on the TG, I'm thinking Fairlawn. Are 100 series Fairlawn PD?

I was not logging audio, but did get 7 hits on that TG today. Can anyone else help confirm?

found another one: 38576

Bath FD is training on it now. From audio, it sounds like they had trouble telling dispatch what channel to go to. The eventually refered to this as channel 7. Assume that is just a position in a zone. Probably a fireground channel. Keep your ears peeled for a real name on this one.

also 40688 being submitted. Fairlawn FD alert.
also 40624 being submitted. Copley FD alert.

Submitted corrections for the following:
34864 TG2 Springfield Twp FD Fireground
34896 TG3 Lakemore FD Fireground
34992 TG6 Coventry Twp FD Fireground
35088 TG9 Green FD Fireground

All digital. The gaps in TGIDs in that range may be the remaining TGx channels used by South Summit. For the record, I never understood why Lakemore and Springfield use opposite TGs to their number. I've asked, and have yet to get a good answer.

Sounds like the Stow Dispatch Center has moved Tallmadge FD / EMS tone alert / dispatch announcement to TG 35568. Radio enroutre/ on scene traffic remains on Fire Dispatch TG.
No submission to database yet, pending further listening review.

I downloaded the freq's today from radioreference and uploaded to my pro 96. I still can't listen to bath/copley/fairlawn. The Cuyahoga Falls doesn't work either.

What am I doing wrong ???
Thanks for your help. I have not been able to monitor since they did the change.
