Hello all, I'm new here, so if I'm doing something wrong, please forgive me.

This weekend I'm traveling to Albuquerque to railfan. I was wounding if there are any maps available that show the track layout (Both main and yard track) and milepost detectors. I want to be able to know what I am hearing on the radio.

Thank you very much.

P.S. Is there any specific HAM repeaters that you railfan/HAMs hang around on in Albuquerque?

google earth under the transportation layer for rail

Thanks, that is indeed a start. However, it does not show MPs or detectors. Is there a custom Google Earth layer that shows those?

Rail Traffic Through Albuquerque

About the only rail traffic through ABQ are Amtrak #3 & 4, and the Rail Runner Commuter trains between Belen and Sante Fe on the old BNSF main. If you go south to Belen (about 60 miles if I remember correctly) the BNSF Transcon main passes through there. Probably 80+ trains a day. East of Belen you can follow trains to Sais which is the west end of Abo Canyon. It's an absolutely beautiful piece of track doubled tracked in the last couple of year - totally inaccessable for photography. The property owner does not like visitors. From Sais, follow the highway around Abo Canyon to Scholle where it comes out of the east end of the canyon. There's a highway bridge to shoot from there and you can follow the tracks quite a ways east from there. West of Belen, follow the old highway from Isleta and it joins the track west of Dalies. Dalies is the bypass that goes north towards ABQ but the whole area is private property and again, they don't like visitors. The highway comes back along the main near Rio Puerco and it follows off and on west from there.

161.190 MHz east of Belen
160.860, 160.650 in Belen
160.650 MHz Belen west to Gallup.

The other thing to keep in mind is that you will pass through some indian reservations west of Belen and they don't seem to like photography on the reservations.
