Site 17 has gone quiet yet again. What the heck is going on???

Looks like Site 17 is finally offline after months and weeks of no activity. It should be appropriately marked as deprecated.

I still have those UHF frequencies programmed in a favorites list and have yet to hear activity. Per the TAFL, Alectra is still updating their licenses most recently as of Dec 1st 2020.

I wonder if maybe they have phased out radios all together and have switched to cell phones instead?

The same with Alectra in Hamilton they have a bunch of those low band UHF frequencies that where licensed to them back on March 1st, 2020.

Matt: do you hear any activity on any of the frequencies you listed? A few weeks ago Alectra were working down the street.
I used Close Call on a scanner and had my 436 monitor the system listed in the database.

In the summer of 2019 the power lines exploded and caught fire in our building. We lost power all day on what was the hottest day of the year.
Spent the day doing close call and heard nothing.

You're close to me , so what you hear. I should hear.

I have the same one programmed in for here for Mississauga. There listed to be used for the "Mavis OPS Base". Haven't heard anything on it either. This is very strange. I wonder where they have disappeared to.

Back late last month I stuck these in my radio and scanned them for about a week or so but didn't hear anything at all on them. The Con+ system is still spiting out a control channel but I never really bother with it as everything on it is encrypted anyways.

Yea I thought it might be that I am in Fort Erie and not picking up the system because of a weak signal or something

On one of the Alectra licenced frequencies I have a TIII CC on 410.3875 showing as Site 2-1.2 DCC:1 tonight. I'm not chasing it as it's after 10PM so there won't be traffic to catch anyway. Back at it in the morning.

I have only had 4 TG's come up all encrypted.. 101, 102, 103 & 105..

I am holding on it currently and I am not seeing any activity. I'll hold on that freq tonight and have record active and see if there is anything logged tomorrow.

Try 410.3875, 412.3125, 412.1375 and 414.8375.

Looks like it’s going to be a wide area system tying together a bunch of Alectra areas.

410.3875 is now selected on DSD+ on a laptop over in the corner here. It can be that way all day and I'll report results as they appear. FWIW, it's not a particularly strong RF signal for me out here, certainly not comparable to something on a 20 story apartment building in Peel or Toronto. It's perhaps more likely to be in downtown Hamilton or over in St. Catharines as a better comparison to other known signals here with the Escarpment and some addition distances involved to my south/southwest.

Update: Nothing I have running now (2 PCs able to select from 2 Airspies and/or RTL sticks collectively) wants any part of decoding that carrier this morning. It's there at a similar RF level, but no joy on data decoding.

Good work Mike! I still have no decoding on either computer today, it must have been a particularly clean RF night yesterday. The carriers are there but only DMR BS DCC:1 appearing in DSD+, no site info at all. The data I posted was solid as a rock 12 hours ago so I have full confidence in the site 2-1.2 decode in addition to the color code.

If you go by TAFL, it looks like there could be sites in Aurora, Brampton, Guelph, Hamilton, St Catharines, Alliston, Penetang, Vaughan, Mississauga, Bradford, Edgar and Markham.

I'm guessing the site I heard was Vaughan which is listed as Aurora (Snowball) tower.

Bradford, Penetang and Edgar are all current Alectra sites in the old PowerStream area. I can confirm that Edgar will be getting a site.
