Hey Casey, Thanks for that information. The broadcasts sound much better than it was last week when it was very garbled or underwater.

Keep it up everyone. I'm going to be heading to Atlanta in June and I can't wait to monitor the new system.

There is still quite a bit of whooshing and underwater noise because the analog is being patched to digital, expect the quality to improve when they dump the analog patches and are 100 percent digital.

More updates

Here are some corrections and new tgs i've figured out, please add if you can help:

Correction on Detective channel it is (I still don't know the SOS/Red Dog Main):
APD Detective 19786

ACIC/Records 1 19900
ACIC/Records 2 19899

Talkgroup 19780 I think is the detective CID channel or homicide maybe?

Here are zone talkaround guesses (each zone should have two so we need to figure out more on that) from I hear:
Zone 1 Surveil 19756
Zone 2 Surveil 19750
Zone 5 Surveil 19732 (verified Surveil 1)
Zone 6 Surveil 19724

Here are the Atlanta Fire Talkgroups I'm pretty sure about:

AFD Dispatch 19657
AFD TAC 1 19654
AFD TAC 2 19632
AFD TAC 3 19631
AFD 19630
AFD 19629

These are all Airport talkgroups:

APD Hartsfield Disp 19875
Hartsfield Terminal Lanes/Trains 19572
Hartsfield 19573
Hartsfield--'Airport D Gate to Control' 19575
Hartsfield Operations (custodial) 19569
Hartsfield 19571

Larry - I believe you - I really haven't had time to spend making sure I had all the right freqs programmed. For some reason, my job keeps interfering with my desire to scan. :) You guys have a great day.

I remember when the new Cobb P25 system was coming up how enjoyable it was to discover new TGs - hope everybody has that same enjoyment from this system.

Fortunately, GA
Fortunately, so far, there has only been one TG with encryption on it. And it is not one that has been posted on RR. They best time for me to monitor this system is when mobile. Zigra1 has posted a huge list of TGID's on the ScanAtlanta yahoo group. You truly just need to have 857.7875 in to listen. Put a whole lot of TG objects in the 106 last night, and was hearing them early this morning when out mobile. It would be nice if someone put up a stream on RR.

Ok,

Will the "long list of talkgroups" that's posted on the ScanAtlanta yahoo groups find it's way on this site?
Will the analog TRS be shut down soon or continued to be used for some city svcs?
BG..

This is the correct set of Zone Surveil 1 talkgroups (officers refer to these channels as 2 when they switch over from Dispatch) but they are Surveil 1 on the radios:
19756 Zone 1 Surveil 1
19750 Zone 2 Surveil 1
? Zone 3 Surveil 1
19738 Zone 4 Surveil 1
19732 Zone 5 Surveil 1
19724 Zone 6 Surveil 1

Each zone has a Surveil 2 but I don't have those yet, keep a look out.

ALSO, I think 19687 Is Grady Security or Grady Detention (mention of blue zone, detainee)...I will need verification on it though, but I don't think it's in the city jail.

Hey Butchgone I didn't want to post the complete long list on here because I can't verify many of them, I'd rather we all get them right before putting them into the database. On ScanAtlanta yahoo you can look em over and make corrections or help me out with some additional finds. If you listen to the dispatchers each one has made a comment that they are in a new building and don't have everything set up yet, so knowing 911 dispatchers have left City Hall East and it is going into private hands (and that's where the pre-olympic smartnet controller is located) the analog will be retired in the next few months and off the air.

I think another poster somewhere mentioned that Georgia State Patrol will have finally joined the UASI 'State' P25 digital system that has been up and running for half a year or more, it only carries roam traffic from Cobb Police and Sheriff right now if you listen to it...You will probably not hear GSP Atlanta on the Atlanta City P25 system (because of range) so they will be on the State UASI and roam on the same tg on Cobb p25.

Atlanta P25 Range

I can't pick up the CC here in NE Cobb. I'm somewhat surprised since I'm not that far from the ATL as the crow flies. Of course I could hear Gwinnett clear as day in the pre-digital days as well.
