Keep those scanners on ID search. I don't remember what it was, but I heard a LOT of U/C ops.

"Dem boys have been smoking crack on that corner all day"

"Keep an eye on that blue SUV, he's been selling out of it"

And my favorite:

"I'm confiscation $1,000 plus dollars from this dealer"!

Comnet is still alive and well

Ok, so this is a first I think...a simulcast of a simulcast...the old UHF COMNET channel (priv security to APD link) which is linked into the old Atlanta Analog Trunk is now simulcast on on digital 19714. Doesn't sound too bad actually...but it does have that patch 'whoosh' noise and the automated morse code ID still comes through.

COMNET 19714

19654 is Atlanta FD "Med 1", not Tac 1 (Med 1 is the channel responding engines use for medical calls only). Their Tac channels start at 2, used for responding units, Tac 3 is the first Tac for fireground use.

Is anyone running UniTrunker on the Atlanta P25 system? I would love to spend a week up there ID'ing the new talkgroup ID's.

I’m glad everyone is working on the Atlanta P-25 system. I plan on being up there next month and I can’t wait. I’ve been following the post everyday on the new talkgroup listing. I noticed a few things on the numbering system that may help those in Atlanta trying to ID the talkgroups. If you look at the attachment I posted, you will see the numbers are pretty much in a numerical order. The ID’s I have listed in red would be my guess as too the TG ID assignment. From the post it’s a pretty good guess. This may be something to look at as your ID’ing the new talkgroups. The only thing I see out of sequence is Zone 3 Surveillance. From the post I read so far there were some questions on this one. Z3 is the only one not in sequence. What I have listed in RED is what I think they might be. Again this is up to the folks in Atlanta to verify. Wish I was up there to help.

New TGID put in service today

After listening to a dozen or so "test 1 2 3 4" recordings, 19439 went in service. I think its the DMVS. I'm hearing a lot of 10-38s, 10-27s and 8's being checked for 10-29's. When the units call in, they're raising "metro" and always working the interstates. Still sifting through recordings from overnight and today while I was asleep to see what else it came across.

Further TGID's

I concur that traffic on 19799 sounds in line with Red Dog 1, got nothing on 19798 or 19800, so not sure about a red dog 2 yet, will leave it on tomorrow so we'll see on that one.

19731 - "Ch 2" so its Surveillance for... something.

19655 - "Engine 16 to Grady Dispatch...med 1" Med 2 maybe since it's 1 digit off the actual med 1? There were originally 3 Med channels...leads one to believe 19656 would be Med 3? Educated guess only

19630 ".... is on scene with Truck 31" Tac 4 perhaps? 19629 Tac 5, 19628 Tac 6? Tac 3 is 19631

19813 - MA 1 - Confirmed

19894 - School Detectives

19831 - ID / CSI (not confirmed, but pretty sure)

Update on DMVS / GSP

19439 Worked most of the day, still sounds like DMVS, calling "Metro"
19438 had a few 3 digit units calling "Atlanta", possibly GSP
19435 Also had some 3 digit units calling "Atlanta" but the radio shop tech told the dispatcher there were problems with the controller so they would remain on the analog system until further notice.

We're still stuck on Fulton's analog TRS :(. I'm pushing to get us moved over, but at a price tag of around $600,000 retail to replace all our radios (without trade in allowances of course), it's a hard price tag to swallow for a cash strapped health system.

Just wondering, what's MA1?

lots of grant money out there 80/20 grants can reduce that cost quite a bit. I thought most of Grady EMS were toting XTS2500 RB's acquired from Sprint during re-banding negotiations? If so, re-flashing them for SmartZone OmniLink should not cost but 300-500 per radio depending on the volume needed, then it's just a matter of reprogramming them on the new Atlanta system (or is it AUASI, GEWIN or whatever)?

19435 - GSP, Confirmed. In service today.
Is anyone in the know about whether Troop C Operations will ALSO be on UASI shortly? I don't think troopers are going to get the range they did with the Analog trunk...I haven't logged anything yet on the UASI system other than the the usual Cobb Z2 Z3 Z4 STEP & Sheriff roam traffic.

I dunno about the range...I've picked up the new DTRS with full signal strength in Hiram, Douglasville, wayyy out in W. Ga...pretty impressive stuff. (On an XTS5000 mind you, haven't checked on a scanner yet).
