dose anyone know of a date this will become live? im a fireman for this area and due to the recent changes in the 911 system we no longer hear our transmissions over our minitors (fire pagers) we can only hear county dispatch. it really hinders our ability to hear who called in service , whos going straight to the scene, and the status of the call unless county confirms transmission and repeats it. im hoping i can use this as a tool in conjunction with my firepager to stay updated on the way to the firehouse. this feed will make or break my decision to purchase the app from my blackberry. although droids get it for free, thats another story.

reason you dont hear unit call enroute anymore via minitors is that units are to respond on the ops channel assigned by county when dispatched.

Not sure what department you are with. But, all Castle Shannon VFD pagers, and radios have had Fire 2 (460.625) in them from the start. Castle Shannon, Dormont, and Mt. Lebanon usually respond on South Fire 2 (460.625). Baldwin Boro, Jefferson, South Park, Mt. Oliver, Pleasant Hills, Brentwood use South Public safety (460.200) for response. The other response channels are not in service yet. Since you are in Baldwin Twp, I'm guessing you are with CSVFD. I will be at Bingo tomorrow if you have any questions.

i know the freq are live for south fire. im talking when is the channel (Alleghey County South Fire Dispatch Live Scanner Audio Feed) on here to be live. im with station 107. im aware what we can hear and what we cant. i dont have a personal radio or a home scanner as of yet so i cant manually enter in the 460.625 anywhere. i just have a fire pager, so i pretty much hear nothing except county. so i wanna know when that channel on the site was going live then i could listen via the blackberry.

I would not count on that (feed from site). A couple of problems with that are the delay in the audio, and the fact it is a scanner you can not control, and could miss traffic due to another channel being active on the feed scanner.

I am kind of surprised you can't hear them. Talk to a line officer at your department, and see what they recommend. I do have an old Bearcat 200 XLT I could sell (shameless selling plug) cheap. I thought 107 was using Vertex radios for pagers, and had the channels, but you know more about that than me.

the radios @ the station yes can pick up everything. but the firepagers we have are just the basic minitor 2. im going to double check but from what i understood is the firepager cant cant tune into the south fire channel. idk why they would have them switch, we should just run on southfire all together. just my opinion.

I highly doubt they are minitor II. Min V can support narrowbanding.

Might be a 3/4 which wont do narrowbanding but for receive purposes should work fine.

are they going to put south fire back up on here? cause im down in maryland trying to listen to south fire and im having trouble locating it.
