That RR post contains a link to FCC ID AMWUB359... the BCD396XT. It doesn't say anything about a "346".

Good catch Don...My mistake Smerri...I am sure the 346 will be up on the FCC website sometime soon :) Thanks for the eagle eye Don!

No eagle eyes were needed here. I already had that FCC page open (to compose my "NO BLUETOOTH" reply above) and recognized the ID.

I do stand by my no bluetooth assertion for the 396xt...if you want bluetooth you will either have to rig something up like others have done or pull out the ol' bright blue sharpie marker :D

Perhaps there's a misunderstanding here, but I agree with you. My original post on the BT subject above was meant to state that there is absolutely no way the BCD396XT will include Bluetooth.

The documents submitted to the FCC don't mention intentional radiation in the Bluetooth frequency range. Either it doesn't do Bluetooth, or Uniden is trying to pull a fast one. I highly doubt the latter.

Thank-you That is what I was wondering if someone had some real info that says no BT vs rdale just saying "NO"

You're new here, so it's okay, but realize that I don't post on a topic unless I know.

I know I don't post a lot but I am hardly "new" to RR or scanning discussion boards in general. You would seem a lot more credible and less condescending if you could post some supporting info for your declarations rather than just simply saying "No it doesn't". On the other hand if I am so new, how am I supposed to know that you are the Ultimate Swami of all things scanning!

And yet the rest of us have figured out how authoritative his posts are.

Y'know, it really doesn't help anyone when you act this badly both here and on the Scanont mailing list (at the same time, no less)

Well at least we know he's both consistant and he can multitask :)

PS quit picking apart my posts with your smart ass replies try sticking to info that that actually answers the question I asked in the first place I wasn't looking for info on how I could do it cheaper I was just curious if anybody had done it and how. If I want to spend 150 bones on the piece of hardware that's my business there SlicerBoy

Uh-oh, we're arguing with teenagers again. That seems to be the short path to thread locking.

Hey UP man, anything on the horizon by way of a 996 XT?

http://www.radioreference.com/forums/showpost.php?p=895265&postcount=157

As Paul (UPMan) has stated more than once when there is something to announce about the 996 he will do it in its own thread...this thread is for info about the 346/396xt only....please people read through the entire thread before asking questions...you will probably find that your question has already been answered...Thanks!

In my post I was just wanting to say I wish it had bluetooth. Even if they did it like and add on like the new Yeasu VX8. That way poeple that wanted it could pay the extra price to have it, and it would be inside the case. I use to carry my ht around all day long but after I got married again she didn't like hearing it so I just stopped. That is why I will be getting the Yeasu after it gets out. How about it UPMan? Uniden could make some money on selling the bluetooth part seperate. Not sure of the cost on your end but I would think it would make a good move.

I can't wait any longer... the wait is killing me. I need digital, and I need it now. I almost bought the PRO-106 over the weekend, because I miss the digital reception of my favorite local LE & FIRE frequencies. I may have to start drinking again... lol. Well, maybe not, I will just wait.

Hey, only 15 more days until Q1 begins...

FCC approval has been completed, I would hope Uniden is in the production phase.

Folks who haven't blown their Xmas cash on PRO-106/197's would love to at least begin to see vendors begin to accept pre-orders before years end...
