They use mostly MDC's in the trucks on the UHF freqs to dispatch service calls. Most voice communications are done over NEXTEL

Did you try the FCC Data Base? Here is a link. Not sure this is the Nicor Gas you are looking for. Click on each current license and when that loads click on frequencies tab.

License Search - Search Results.

Here is the link for the home page. On the left scroll down and click on license search. Then choose name from the drop down box and type in the name, for example Nicor Gas.

Sorry, when you said you checked the DB, I assumed you were talking about the RR database.

If you have a HH scanner that has close call or signal stalker on it you might be able to find any frequencies they are using if you are near their base or one of their trucks.

Nicor Central Illinois freq.

Back in the 60's and 70's "Northern Illinois Gas" could be found on 451.225 in Champaign County. If memory serves me correct (?), they were dispatched out of Paxton or Gilman....not sure about that, but somewhere up north........PW

I saw a nicor service truck the other day which still had the laird low pro uhf antennas on it,but on searching when I got home from work all I heard in the entire 451 mhz. range was mostly data. So they must be using nextels in this area.
Thanks everybody, for your input! :)
