Anyone else think the all sub-forum layout sucks?

But have they also cut down on posts? It seems like there is less discussion, both good and bad.

There also seems to be less informative & knowledgeable posts than previously.

FWIW - and not entirely related to sub-forms, but I'm more inclined to quit replying than I was before. I still see the same questions over and over, endless battery discussions that should be in a different forum. Discussion of ARC - that only pertains to a Uniden model are now in the Software forum. Someone new to these scanners will never know it even exists.

I'm of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" - well it's still broken.

I'm using Tapatalk successfully. There have been several updates in the past week.

You might have to clear program data in application manager to reset.
BTW, I'm really pleased with the new Uniden structure on this site and my 486.

I just fixed it by unsubscribing from the main Uniden forum. All the sub forums showed up after that.

Which is ironic considering that the whole reason Coke changed their formula in the first place was to make their product taste more like Pepsi. They tried to give the public what they SAID they wanted, and it blew up in their face. That's what happens when you try to please everyone.

Okay, I have to admit, when I read the thread title, this is the first thing that went through my head....

I can just hear Raj saying, "Oh man, the new Uniden forum layout sucks!!"






FWIW, I didn't like all the new sub-forums at first. They took some getting used to, but they have grown on me.

Everything Else

I knew when I started this thread that I would get one or two of the "If you don't like it, go away and start your own forum" type of posts. I was not looking to ruffle any feathers or start any flame wars, so I'll just leave those alone.

I really appreciate all the other replies, though. Some very good ideas for a more user-friendly layout were suggested. It doesn't look like the management is interested in hearing them, but that's okay. All we can do is try.

I avoid the new layout entirely most of the time (since I try to read all the posts in all the sub-forums) by always using the following link to view the Uniden forums:

If everyone including UPMan is using magic links to avoid the new forum layout, I think it tells you all you need to know about the new forum layout.

Totally agree with you - I've stopped reading - too much to go through, it's not fun. The new radios should have their own section as you observed.

Unfortunately, the powers that be appear to like the new format, so I highly doubt we'll see a change any time soon.
