Hey diablo,
I'm not sure how they have it set up now, but before if you had 146.2pl tone programmed for the 155.2500 frequency then you would not hear the noise when they switched to DVP, only when they were in the clear. :)

Hey Guys,
I was just in Dixon over the weekend and all Dixon PD traffic is now digital narrowband P25 on 151.2125.
Also, it appears part of the traffic is encrypted as it sounds like R2D2 and says ENC on the front of my BCT996T. Looks like the mobiles are still in the clear though. If I upgrade to a scanner that has NAC capability and program the correct NAC will this eliminate the annoying R2D2 sound?
Thanks in advance
PS - I also confirmed both Dixon City FD and Dixon Rural FD are on narrowband 154.145 DCS315.

Correct. Also the encryption from dispatch seems to depend on the discretion of the tc on duty at the county PSAP at the time. If dispatch is from the city during the daytime, it's usually in the clear. Even with the NAC 293 programmed, you will NOT be able to listen if encryption is enabled - Fyi.
Lately this seems to be the pattern for this department.
