you mean recently, or back around 1979/80?I actually heard the BBC on the 11m band. That was a surprise, usually never hear anything there.
Nope, not quite entirely true, but it certainly is a lot less than it was before. For example check this PDF out....For those of us whose specific interest was 'tropical bands' DXing, it's entirely done and in the past. It was great fun and I enjoy looking at old publications, especially the log sections (and even my old logbooks), but it's entirely gone.
Hihi, no, just the other day. My clue was a very open CB band. I also check to see if WWV's on 25 megs.you mean recently, or back around 1979/80?
Thanks, that is more than I imagined but it's bulked-up by parts of the world I considered interference rather than my DX target back in the day! ("Stupid Soviet station blocking my Bolivian!") I had no idea that R. Educacao Rural de Coari was on 60m now....I remember when then were on 120 and I recently found a QSL letter they were kind enough to send 40 years ago.Nope, not quite entirely true, but it certainly is a lot less than it was before. I also hear them on 21630 in the late mornings really well here in IowaBBC has been on 25900 kHz. Check for it 1600-1800z
For comparison here are the first two pages from the 1994 WRTH, and 1994 was itself past the peak especially for 120 and 90. (I also have the 1965 WRTH, before my time, if anyone's interested in those pages.)Nope, not quite entirely true, but it certainly is a lot less than it was before. For example check this PDF out....

13845 at 8:00 am EST to 9:00 weekdays am world Wide Country Radio. Crystal clear signal. Almost solid music. If you like older country music very good.SWLing has sure changed since the 1970's through the mid 1990's. It seems the Internet has decimated things. In the past one could simply tune through the band and find something good, now... Anyway, do you guys have any favorite shows with date, time (UTC) and frequency that we could check out?

Another interesting station 6070 this is Canadian radio, News and Talk 1010 am rebroadcast on shortwave for all the Canadians out in the remotes territories. It's on day and night. If you like to hear the news from other countries!SWLing has sure changed since the 1970's through the mid 1990's. It seems the Internet has decimated things. I have the same radio. It's a great radio...there's just nothing to listen to other than preachers it seems. I mainly dig it out when I want to listen to HF aviation for the planes coming across the north Atlantic.I still like the ‘romance’ of listening to Shortwave. Especially on cold, winter nights. I have a small C. Crane Skywave SSB and sometimes I’ll just spin the dial and see what I can catch.
That one (can't remember the call letters) has been there for 50 years and likely much more than that. There used to be three other Canadians (Halifax, Montreal, and a 10-watt Vancouver one that was a prime DX target) but they went away long ago.Another interesting station 6070 this is Canadian radio, News and Talk 1010 am rebroadcast on shortwave for all the Canadians out in the remotes territories. At night when the conditions are good I can receive the 740 AM station ( zoomer radio) also from Toronto much clearer than I usually get the 6070 station . The high power Am medium wave can rival the shortwave stations at night. That one (can't remember the call letters) has been there for 50 years and likely much more than that.
