I bought a Yaesu Vertex MLS-100 external speaker recently. When I connect it to my AOR AR-DV1 there is noise coming through the speaker even though no signal is being received. Has anybody else here ran into this issue and, if so, is there a fix for this?

I had the same problem and it occurred when the DV-1 (approx. 1 year old) was warmed up. After the first use I had connected a standard Kenwood KES-3 speaker (4 ohm) and the noise was disturbing. I had another type of Kenwood speaker (a SP-50B, 8 ohm) and with this speaker the problem no longer occurs. I have not investigated this further, but it may have to do with the impedance (or filtering).
