This hasn’t anything todo with being childish(intentionally) I’m just trying to let him know it can be done.

Too me it sounds like a sensitive topic, since these laws are in place(US) that prohibited this. I’m just trying to stay out of trouble, but if admins allow it I wouldn’t have any problem sharing it.
Good day friend I have an ardv10 I would like you to support me with the issue if possible I would appreciate it very much

Hello AOR enthusiasts.

A north american friend bought for me an AOR DV-10, which is supposedly cell-blocked (it isn't) and hasn't the NXDN key descrambling and voice inversion features.

I live in central Europe and those two last features would be interresting to have.

I know AOR is pretending that versions cannot be changed but, frankly, I live not in the US or Canada (why are they deprived of that?) and I'd love to have these features activated.

Is there a trick, hack or a modified FW ?

after selling all my AOR equipment, i haven’t looked back at the current firmware development. So i have no idea if it’s still possible. I also have very little time atm too check it.

Ok, so I had some time to kill..

First of all, this is completely on your own risk and I take no responsibility if something bad happens.

The unblocking procedure is relatively simpel, but it will require some knowledge on how to create a USB serial connection with your DV10. I highly recommend you figure this out first. Once figured out, and you can successfully send some basic commands like "VR" (firmware version) to your device, you are good to go. You might have to read some of the AOR documentation on how to.

Unblock procedure
1. Install this modified firmware. 2307AU MD5:7573914185640ef521af4acaad72d236
2. After the firmware upgrade, Do a "FULL RESET" on your DV10(not sure if needed, but more bit of a habit)
3. Setup your USB serial connection, with your software of choice(putty, ...)
4. Send the "BB" command. On a Blocked device(B model) this should return "20BB1"
5. Send the "SK" command. This should return "20"
6. Send the "BB0" command(1=blocked, 0=unblocked). This should return "20"
7. Turn the DV10 off, remove the battery and place it back. Now you should be done and the device is no longer a B model(B is also removed from the firmware version info). The procedure can be reverted with the same firmware, and send "BB1" at 6. instead.

My test output(I'm using PySerial python module for the serial communication)

C:\Users\john>py -m serial.tools.miniterm --echo COM3
--- Miniterm on COM3 9600,8,N,1 ---
--- Quit: Ctrl+] | Menu: Ctrl+T | Help: Ctrl+T followed by Ctrl+H ---
BB
20BB1
SK
20
BB0
20

--- exit ---

Good luck :)

Are the imported models from Japan considered A or B models? Is the U.S. version considered a B model?

I think Japan models are not B models. As far as i know it only applies to U.S. models. You can tell easily by checking the firmware version ending with a B(once installed, in the menu and during the bootscreen)

Now, to learn how, write the parameters you already mentioned, to the AOR DV10 via com port or USB

Any Help or guide, will be helpful

This is a bit of a quick start using Putty Using PuTTY for Serial

There’s a change Putty doesn’t echo your input(so you can’t see what you are typing), and could be a bit inconvenient but not a huge problem.
