AOR vs. Uniden

What's the sensitivity like in the upper end of these newer AOR units? My ICOM R20 blow the old AOR8000 away above 1 Ghz. Signals that are pefectly clear at 1500 mhz are no where to be found on the 8000.

I wouldn't mind grabbing a good base type communications receiver but I'm afraid that they will still fall short at the top end like the 8000 does.

Sorry, unfortunately I've no suitable antenna for those bands.
However in general terms they seem to be orientend more towards selectivity than sensibility.
