SCANNING THE AIRWAVES SINCE 1987
Well, I've had my BC125 for about a week now, and I must say I am quite impressed with its performance. Getting a lot of bang for my buck with it.
Up until now I've been programming it by hand (pretty easy to do), but I wanted to speed up the process some, and import frequencies from CSV files, so I downloaded ARC125. I have used other Butel programs, so I knew I'd be getting a quality program. All in all, it is a pretty good program; doing what I need it to do. However, I have come upon a couple of problems I can't figure out, so I'm going to toss them out here and see if anyone else has experienced anything similar and if so, can offer me their insights.
Problem number one pops up when I try to manually enter frequencies. Earlier this evening I was entering what I call my "miscellaneous frequencies." All was going well until I tried to enter 154.0700 (a fire alarm box freq). ARC 125 wants to change it to 154.0500. After trying a few times and getting the same results, I decided to continue down my list and come back to that freq later. Further down the list I tried to enter 154.2650 (Illinois Fire Emergency Radio Network). ARC125 didn't seem to like that freq seeing that it kept changing it to 154.2000. Once again, very frustrating.
Thinking that it just may be a problem when manually entering a frequency, I decided to try and download them thru the RR import function. That's when I ran into problem number two. I logged in, selected my state (Illinois) and county (Cook) and clicked on the "conventional frequencies" tab. The little red status bar at the bottom began its progression across the screen...until it got to about 53% loaded, then an error message popped up.."ARC125 - ShowConv:340 - Control array element '0' doesn't exist." After closing the message dialog box, the download seems to stay at 53%. Hmmmm, this just keeps getting better and better. Thinking that maybe the program somehow got corrupted, I uninstalled it, re-downloaded it from Butel, and reinstalled in onto my computer. Same problems.
Anyone else experience anything like this? If so, I could use your help in getting it figured out. I really don't want to have to use the Uniden software if I don't have to. It's a clumsy program compared to ARC125.
Thanks in advance for any comments / tips / help.
