I have been enjoying using my Icom R8600 as the 'front end' connected to my ARDV1 via the former's 10.7MHz output and the DV1's antenna input.

The realtime Scope makes such a difference, and of course adds all the ARDV1's many modes to the Icom.

I know there were quite a few people doing this at one time if they were lucky enough to have both receivers, but I have not seen any posts about it lately.

Anyone else tried this? If so what are your experiences?

I have attached a DV1 to my ICOM IC-R8600 and it works great. I did not know this was possible until I saw a YouTube video from someone from France, after that I bought a DV1 and now I can decode anything and still use all the features of the R8600. I picked up my hobby again after retirement and I'm hooked again just like in the 70"s -80's when you could listen to the police in the Netherlands. That is not possible anymore but I was not aware that there was still so much to listen too. I'm hooked again!
