This is a military patch originating from the 504th flight test squadron, operating out of Groom Dry Lake, and Los Alamos AFB. All of these projects are classified, and bearers of this patch are prohibited from discussing their occupation, hence, "A Lifetime of Silence". In a 1930's novel and a 1980's pornographic film, both have green doors that a character cannot gain access to. The military and most banks use green vaults. So, the Green Door is referencing that there are secrets that the public doesn't have access too. The true meaning of this patch is classified, and likely will not be declassified in our lifetimes.
Yeah......... thanks......... I'm the one who posted the patch......... I, of course, did not give the detailed description that you did. ;)

Pavehawks also have a winch ( can’t tell on OP pic as it would be on opposite side). Unlikely OP is any sort of Pavehawk. As I said Pavehawks are specifically set up for rescue. We see them frequently here in Anchorage, from the 173 composite wing. Also my understanding is the AF is running short of Pavehawks. They’ve had hard use in Afghanistan, and are wearing out. AF is looking at replacement options.
Perhaps we left them in Afghanistan?

Okay so... What do you think the area 51 Ghost Squadron uses if it isn't a special variation of a Pave Hawk? I would think it has other modifications to serve its purpose.

Actually I believe the Pavehawk is in reality a pimped out variant of the Blackhawk. (We see a lot of regular Blackhawks around here too.) The USCG flies yet another variant called a Jayhawk. It has a winch and other mods for maritime ops, but no refueling probe. And further complicate things, a few of our local Nat Guard Blackhawks have been fitted with a winch. As I said up thread I think the OP pic is probably a regular Blackhawk, perhaps with some additional toys installed. My guess is the likely use them for security around Groom Lake. But of course those who really know can’t say. 😎

Yep, makes sense, A variation of a Blackhawk, used for security and shuttling staff. I bet it does have some interesting equipment aboard.

I wish the original poster had participated more. :sneaky:

Last sighting was on 3/23/22 near Waco, TX via ads-b. no tracking since.
Was it actually labeled as a Ghost Hawk? All I've ever seen is the Blackhawk label. We have them flying around here just north of Philly... I'm not too far from McGuire Air Force Base.

Etymology of the "Green Door" meme...."What's that secret you're keeping?!!??!?!"
