I was making a trip to the Ashtabula area the other day to the radio shop at Route 11 & Route 84 and was hearing the 769 MHz frequency with routine APD traffic, I had the PRO-197 set on search and it was stopping on a NAC of 293 every transmission, hope this helps.

Mike

The new Ashtabula PD 700 mhz dispatch frequency has been added to the database. I only set the old dispatch to 'deprecated'. I did not set the PD2/PD3 to deprecated though. For those of you who routinely listen to Ashtabula PD and have the old VHF TAC frequencies programmed in, please continue to scan all of the old VHF stuff and let us know if you ever hear them in use in the next 30 days or so.

We won't totally remove the old APD VHF frequencies unless they have actually removed the old VHF radios from service. If they still have VHF radios, they likely still have capability to talk on the old VHF frequencies.

Haven't heard a peep out of them on any of the vhf channels in about 2 months. I'd guess it's probably ok to delete the old channels.

I have had APD on my feed since before I started posting on here. I live in Geneva on the lake and at first All I could pick up was The dispatch parch of the conversations. and occasionally when officers were on the west side of Bula I could pick up a mobile. Right now I added an amp and I am picking up almost ALL of APD. Geneva on the lake is about 10-11 miles away.

From what I was told is that they ditched the MARCS system because they could not afford the yearly maintenance for them and They didnt want to pay around 2K for every radio, I was told they were on the MARCs system for free to see if they liked it ( A Trial run). Now the reason they left the 100MHz Idk, Maybe when they went to the MARCS for a bit(?)

I have heard them on their 700 MHz frequency with my pro-197 a while mobile in the Ashtabula area, they are there, however I think they are only licensed for 30 Watt which doesn't leave a very large footprint

If you dont mind me asking, What area do you live in? So I can understand better of why you can't pick them up. Also what kind of antenna are you using? What kind of powersupply and what is the mAh for that power supply? I live at geneva on the lake and I pick APD up with a GRE super amplifier with a 9v 800mAh power supply. my antenna is placed about 25 to 30 feet high.

Sorry for the late reply, I honestley dont know why you arnt picking them up, I live at geneva on the lake and can pick them up even without a pre-amp but i get crappy quality, I get around 70 percent signal with my pre-amp on when apd keys in
